Pronouns: She/Her
Born: 02 March 1992
Status: Married for 7 years, with an amazing 5 year old son.

University: University of Cape Town
First job: Online English teacher

Music in your playlist: I generally listen to gospel, afrobeats, nostalgic 80’s hits and folk indie. For work, lots and lots of acoustics and instrumentals like Andy McKee, Callum Graham, Apollo and any gqom song that will get me going when my coffee isn’t enough.
Describe your job in no more than seven words: Boosting women+ visibility in the media.
What keeps you awake at night? My business – Boost Her Biz, which is an intersectional marketing agency for ambitious women, and any other work that helps me build towards things I care about.
Who is your biggest hero? The women who are doing incredible things and transforming lives, yet never receive the spotlight they deserve.
Remote or office? Remote est 2020
What’s the most exciting part of your job? Getting to learn something new everyday.
Career highlight? The overall growth I’ve experienced and the opportunity to take on and explore multiple roles and areas has been a significant highlight of my career.
What is your superpower? My intuition and perseverance. I don’t give up.
What is the least known fact about you? I’m a dancing queen – not to be mistaken for being a good dancer.
If you could get the ear of one person, to convince them your work is important, who would it be? Someone like Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, the former ED of UN Women. Her proven track record of global leadership in advancing gender equality and women’s rights has made her a respected voice in gender advocacy. Her endorsement and support would carry significant weight for our organisation.
If you had the power to pass a presidential decree, what would it be? Free access to education. Education is not just about formal schooling but also about acquiring relevant soft and hard skills, knowledge and support, at the right time and within context, to give everyone a fair opportunity to succeed.
Your best piece of advice? Integrity is a foundation that will keep you grounded for life.
What’s your next big thing? We are looking to invest more time into tailoring and expanding our training programs at QW+.
What do you do to relax? Cooking and baking (I occasionally share my recipes on my blog), spending time in nature, writing poetry, playing my guitar and taking care of my plants is therapeutic for me. I also watch a lot of dramatic Nollywood movies.
